This little mountain (about 10.000 Ha, 25.000 acres) call Sierra de Carrascoy, is where I grew up. How can you place the mountain in the world, HERE. My father used to work in a big farm on this mountain, so I had the chance to explore what was going on in these hillsides.

CALIFORNIA BIRDS IV: 222 2nd street


How many different species of birds can you see in your yard?

 Western Scrub-Jay (Aphelocoma californica), September 2010.

There are at least 5 of these guys in the yard. They are in the yard because the oak tree and the acorns that fall over the ground. We can see them picking up the acorns and burying it. They also pick up dry leaves to hide the acorns in the ground. The winter season is close!!!
